Hours:

  • Tuesday - Sunday, 9am - 4:30pm (last entry is at 4:30pm, Visitors must leave the Conservatory by 5pm)
  • The Conservatory is closed Mondays
  • The Conservatory is closed on all Holidays except Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day.
  • Please note that on Sundays and all major holidays, Golden Gate Park closes many of its roads to all vehicle traffic

Admission:

  • $5.00 for Adults
  • $3.00 for Youth 12-17, Seniors 65 & over, and Students with ID
  • $1.50 for Children 5 - 11
  • FREE for Children 4 and under
  • The Conservatory is free to all visitors on the first Tuesday of every month.

Accessibility:
The Conservatory Of Flowers is wheelchair accessible for both motorized and non motorized chairs. Handicap permit parking is located at the east side of the building and also on John F. Kennedy Drive in front of the Conservatory. Strollers are not allowed in the Conservatory.

Public Transportation:
The Conservatory is served by several public transit routes. From downtown, take SF Muni buses #5, 7, 21, 71 or the Muni-Metro N-Judah streetcar. From north of the Park, take Muni buses #33 or 44. From South of the Park, take Muni buses #33, 44 or 71. For more information, visit MUNI's website or call the San Francisco Municipal Railway (415) 673-MUNI.

By car:

From the East Bay - Napa, Solano, Contra Costa, and Alameda Counties
(Hwy 80)

  1. Take Hwy 80 west across the Bay Bridge to San Francisco. Continue on Hwy 101 South.
  2. Stay in the right-hand lanes and take the Golden Gate Bridge Exit.
  3. After exiting, follow signs for Fell Street.
  4. Go straight about four blocks and veer left on to Fell Street. Follow Fell Street to Golden Gate Park.
  5. When Fell Street enters Golden Gate Park, veer right on to John F. Kennedy Drive.
  6. The Conservatory will be on your right. Parking is in front of the building.

From the South Bay (Hwy 101)

  1. Take Highway 101 North (Bayshore Freeway). Follow the signs for 101 North/Golden Gate Bridge. As you approach San Francisco, stay in the left lanes and follow the signs marked Civic Center/Golden Gate Bridge. Then follow the signs to the 9th Street Exit.
  2. After exiting, go straight on 9th Street. Stay in the left lanes and drive about five blocks until you reach Market Street, where the left lanes of 9th Street turn into Hayes Street.
  3. Continue on Hayes Street for about four blocks to Gough Street. Turn left on Gough, then after two short blocks, turn right onto Fell Street. Stay in the right lanes.
  4. Veer right on to John F Kennedy Drive when Fell Street enters Golden Gate Park.
  5. The Conservatory will be on your right.

From the South Bay (Hwy 280)

  1. Take Highway 280 north; stay in the left lanes and take the Golden Gate Bridge exit onto 19th Avenue (north).
  2. Stay on 19th Avenue for a little more than 3 miles.
  3. Turn right (east) on Fulton Street.
  4. Follow Fulton to 8th Ave. and make a right.
  5. Turn left on John F Kennedy Dr. and follow this to the Conservatory, which will be on your left.

From the North Bay

  1. Take 101 south over the Golden Gate Bridge
  2. Exit immediately at Park Presidio/19th Avenue
  3. Follow Park Presidio south to Cabrillo
  4. Turn right on Cabrillo. Go one very short block
  5. Turn left on 14th Ave. Go one block
  6. Turn left on Fulton Street
  7. Take Fulton to 8th Avenue. Turn right
  8. Turn left at JFK Drive
  9. Conservatory is two blocks down on left

Parking

Surrounding Streets
The streets which surround the Conservatory are John F. Kennedy Drive (south) and Conservatory Drive (north, west and east). Though most parking is free within Golden Gate Park, spaces can be limited and there are time limits, usually 3 to 4 hours.

Please note that on Sundays, Golden Gate Park closes many of its roads to cars.

Music Concourse Garage
Parking for cars and bicycles is available in the new Music Concourse Garage. Access to Music Concourse Parking is from Fulton Street at 10th Avenue. The Music Concourse Garage is open 7 days a week from 7:30 am to 10 p.m. year-round and parking in the garage is encouraged.

    Weekends 7:30 a.m.-10 p.m. ($3.00/hour)
