EDUCATION

Our facilities offer a unique opportunity for teachers to bring their lessons to life. Field trips and docent tours give students an up-close and in-person look at ecology, botany and history.

Adaptation - Plant Survivors! Registration Page

Docent led Adaptation tours are offered to 3rd-5th grade classes. Visit the Field Trips page for information on visits for all other grades.

The Conservatory is able to accommodate up to 36 students per tour. If you are combining classes, you must have no more than 36 students. Tours begin at 10:00 a.m. and are over by 11:15. Tours are free for students and chaperones and each student is given a field guide notebook.

Adaptation tours are led by docent “Jungle Guides” with one Guide scheduled for every 6 students. The Conservatory requires one chaperone for every 6 students. Before registering for a tour, please check your school's furlogh, holiday, and testing days. Click here for the SFUSD Calendar. Please select an Open Signup below to reserve your tour.
